The Financial Year End for Tredegar Town Council is 31st March each year and during the year - 1st April to 31st March - these accounts are audited by an approved Internal Auditor.

By the end of June following the 31st March all required financial information must be forwarded to the External Auditor, and for a short period of time during August, these unapproved financial records will be available for public viewing. Once the accounts have been finally approved by the External Auditor this page will be updated to show the approved accounts for Tredegar Town Council whilst also giving links to pages which will display Grants distributed to local organisations by Tredegar Town Council.

Tredegar has a variety of excellent local organisations which, in turn, provide a diverse set of artistic, cultural and recreational activities not just for their members but also for a wider audience via public performances. It is these organisations, which are actively promoting Tredegar in a positive way and offering fantastic opportunities for individuals to learn new skills and socialise, that Tredegar Town Council want to acknowledge and offer our support to. This support is not just through monetary grants but also via letters of support and thanks and where/when necessary individuals or the organisation have been presented with a Commemorative Plaque from the Council for their work/services to Tredegar.

Any local organisation from Tredegar may apply annually to the Council for a grant by completing a grant form which is available from the office or downloaded from this site. The form must be completed and returned to the Council offices with the most recent set of financial accounts the association as available.

N.B. First time applicants, it will be necessary for members of your organisation to meet with Members of the Council to discuss the aims of the organisation. The Council would also view your financial statements such as accounts and bank statements plus your association's Constitution. This will be a one off meeting.

Allowances and Expenses payable to Town Councillors

In accordance with Section 151 of the Local Government Measure 2011, Community and Town Councils must publish within their authority area the remuneration received by their members by 30th September following the end of the year to which the payment relates. This information has to also be sent to the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales by the same date. Nil returns are also required. See Annex 4 of the Independent Remuneration Panel's report for more information.
