Armed Forces Day 2014

Sunday 29th June 2014

This year the event will be held at Bedwellty House and Park between 11am and 5pm.

It is going to be a busy day in the Park this year with many stalls by local associations selling their lovely goodies and local charities advertising their services.

A parade, led by the Regimental Band & Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh, will march from the Memorial Gates to the Bandstand for a short Service at 3pm by Father Davies.  The Regimental Band will also be doing a display in front of the Bandstand at 4.30pm

There will be live music throughout the day in the Bandstand - Kidz'R'Us choir, Tredegar Orpheus Male Voice Choir and the Regimental Band & Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh.

There will be activities such as Welly Wanging, Have a Go Fly Fishing and kids arts'n'crafts.

Inside Bedwellty House there will be demonstrations by Gwent Defibbers, and art display and a flight simulator from 2167 Tredegar ATC Squadron.

Besides some of the food stalls, Bedwellty House's café and bar will be open selling refreshments.

Fundraising, in the form of a bucket collection, will take place throughout the day and all donations will be for the Help For Heroes Appeal.

The overall event is FREE; there will be a small charge for some activities.

In the event of poor weather, the event will be moved inside Bedwellty House but this will result in reduced activities for the day.

Tredegar Town Council is organising this event and further information is available from Tel: 01495 722352.
